Knife brandished during Tesco robbery
A man threatened staff with a knife during a robbery in south Manchester.
At 10.45pm on Saturday 2 June 2012, a man walked into the Tesco store on Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton and ran towards the counter.
He brandished a knife towards a staff member and demanded they hand over money. He grabbed money from her hand before demanding cash from the till.
When they refused, he ran out of the shop.
No one was injured.
The man is described as being white, in his late teens or early 20s, of thin build and around 5ft 6ins tall. He was wearing a black balaclava, a black and white checked hooded top, black trousers and gloves.
Detective Constable Ed Lister from South Manchester CID said: "Barlow Moor Road is a very busy road and we believe there may have been a number of people around at the time of the robbery.
"If you witnessed the robbery or saw the man leaving the shop and running off, I would ask you to contact police as soon as possible."
