Asian jewellery stolen from Chorlton home by thieves

A large quantity of Asian jewellery was stolen by intruders who burgled a Chorlton home.

Sometime between 10.15pm and 10.35pm on Friday 26 October 2012, unknown offenders broke into the house on Wilbraham Road.

A safe containing the jewellery was among the items stolen.

Police are appealing to witnesses who have seen anyone with a safe or dumping it to come forward.

Pc Michael Brealey, from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Not only are the family devastated at having their home broken into, they have the added distress at knowing whoever is responsible has taken their cherished and valuable jewellery.

“The thieves have taken an entire safe so I want anyone who has seen someone carrying this item, dumping it or trying to break into it somewhere to call us.

“I also want local traders or anyone who offers cash for gold to be mindful of this theft and to call the police if anyone tries to off-load the stolen goods.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4973, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
